My novel Siege… now published!

Those fortress walls
you built to defend
your gold, your riches
from your neighbour’s clutches;
sturdy stone, would stand
many egos, over aeons,
and yet, could never
protect you from
that darkness lurking
within your own heart
that sickness, breeding
from the depths of that
very earth you spoilt
when you made her a slave
to the whims of your greed
and your toxic human desires

I am so excited (and a little nervous!) to finally announce that my debut novel Siege is now available for purchase internationally in paperback and e-book through Amazon and all major online retailers. If you enjoy my writing and my blog, I would love for you to check it out and help spread the word!

This is by no means an autobiographical book, but I have carried it with me in various forms for nearly two decades of my life, and so much of my own life’s journey and struggle has shaped its essence. Perhaps that’s why I’ve clung on to it for so long – because I had to get to a certain stage along my own path first, before I would feel ready to open up and emerge, with this book, into the world.

The story is set during wartime, and the characters grapple with death, pain, sickness, and psychological challenges. It is a story about emerging into the light through confrontation of the shadows within our own selves, about finding love and forgiveness in even the most difficult times, and shifting our perception… beyond dualist thinking.

The story is threaded together with poetic chapter openings, vivid imagery, and mystic symbolism inspired by my experiences with spirit and connection to nature. I have spent the last few years away from the law, on sabbatical leave in the Costa Rican jungle, going deep within myself, and exploring life from other perspectives. It was during this time that I worked on updating an earlier version of the story, infusing it with reflections from my more recent life experiences.

A big big thank you to Fay Thompson of Big Moose Publishing, my cover designer Antonio Cesar, my amazing husband, and everyone who has supported me to get to this point.

Have a beautiful weekend and happy reading!
