The Storyteller

…unleashing the power in stories…

What is magic?” he asked, eyes wide with curiosity as he gazed at this strange gypsy girl. Well, though he called her a girl, really he had no idea of her age. She had a youthful look about her, but something in the deep fathoms of her emerald eyes betrayed an ancient wisdom: as though she had watched the birth of stars, and captured remnants of their glinting fire in the swirling mystical fabric of her soul.

She smiled, a glowing warm smile. Laughter began to spill from her rosy lips, first a slow trickle and then a flowing avalanche of joy.

“Come, do you not see?” she whispered. And she took his hand, and she led him into the jungle deep, and she showed him the secrets of Life itself…

The Awakening Series

My ongoing fantasy saga, which has been in the making for over a decade, tells the story of a war between two races and the destruction of the earth. It is a story about people, emotion, and the struggle for survival; of different perspectives and the search for an ultimate truth. Drawing inspiration from history, science, religion and mysticism, this vivid and multi-layered tale explores the plight of the human race, from the rise and downfall of civilisations to our relationship with the planet.

In 2012, the first book (Dawn of Destruction) was voted amongst the top 5 books of the month on the former HarperCollins website, Authonomy.

Read a preview from the opening chapters here, and an excerpt from the metaphysical thread that runs throughout the series here.

Forgotten Shadows

The soul is born, alive with music and colour and beauty. Our talents, meant to be explored and celebrated and shared with the world. But when that is stolen, the inner beauty becomes twisted by forlorn rage and rusty fear. And then the soul begins to crumble…

Meet the Forgotten Shadows: two artists lost in the void of history, unknown to the world.  This psychological tale in two parts tells the story of their journeys through sanity and madness.  Through poetic prose and imagery, the reader will be led on a provocative exploration of the impact of trauma, addiction, the corruption of the human spirit, and how cycles of suffering are perpetuated through generations.

The first part, “Capturing Perfection” is a short story published in the anthology “Fusion” (August 2013), available on Amazon and Goodreads.
