Prophet

The sweet light that you bring, shining

To the depths of my stormy mind

Filtering through the tears, it makes

The most colourful of rainbows

Then in the sanctuary of your calm

This peaceful place, love seizes me

And holds me tight, while watering

Seeds of hope you long ago sowed

Are you a prophet? – for you looked

Many years gone by, deep into

My youthful eyes, which at that time

Could surely not have shown answers

And yet you knew, you left your sign

For which I too long did ignore

But you still waited patiently

Until the time I’d need you most

That silent part within my soul

I feel it now, awakening

A treasure gleaming in the night

To lift me up and guide me on
